From Flora to Nashville and Home Again...

This weekend we traveled to Nashville, TN to visit Robert's cousin Abbey George.
Abbey is graduating from high school this week.
We are SO proud of her!
High School - CHECK!
Hollywood - HERE COMES ABBEY!
Abbey is an extremely talented singer.
We cannot to see her name in the spotlight!

Abbey's family hosted an open house in her honor at 55 South.
55 South's menu runs deep into Southern comfort, even offering patrons a daily oyster happy hour. The restaurant features Louisiana favorites such as the crawfish fiesta trio, Delta tamales, fried boudin, and chicken & sausage jambalaya, and
southern staples like greens and cornbread, cheese grits and sweet potato fries.
55 South is named for the highway
that spans from Memphis to New Orleans.
The food was awesome.
Abbey also works part time at 55 South.

After the party, we strolled through downtown Franklin, TN!
I LOVE IT!
Franklin is such a cute quaint little town.
We did some shopping and photo ops.
Here is one in front of Sweet CeCe's Bakery.
This one I took for Porter...

Sunday we rose early and hit the road.
We made it back in time for me to have my first lesson on the lawn mower.
(I may regret this idea.)
I did great! Plus, I was able to start my summer tanning all while being productive.
Can't get much better!

A section of the finished product!

While I slaved away, my husband enjoyed his Sunday afternoon!

All and all the weekend was great!
We had a blast.
We finished the day with a great home cooked meal made of
fresh fish in the oven, lemon potatoes, fresh corn, mac & cheese and biscuits.
Not too great for the hips but...
YUM! YUM!

Hope your weekend was just as full and enjoyable!
Until next time...

P.S. The blog is still under construction; however, I could not handle the plain design any longer!
So, until I can get to Chelle's for some lessons in blogging...
Enjoy the pre-made template!!

UNDER RE-CONSTRUCTION

FYI...

I am currently re-designing my blog.
Patience is a virtue!
I am still not quite a pro at this blog thing..

Michelle is helping me with my re-design.
So, please check back soon for the new reveal...

Thanks!!!

Claire

Catching Up...

I am slacking a little in the blog department lately.
My apologies!
We have been so busy here lately.
We are still enjoying making our frames!
This past weekend we went to The Jerry Clower Festival in Yazoo City, MS.
We had a blast. The entertainment, vendors and food were great!
Here are a few photos from the festival...

Our best friend Stephen (aka Disco) moved back home this past week!
We cannot get enough time with him to catch up!
I think we have been together every night since he got home!
We shared our Cinco de Mayo with him along with lots of our other friends and family!

We shared dinner and of course margaritas at Papitos.
Ryan introduced me to something special...
My new favorite is now the marga-rona!
I am not sure if I like the taste as much as I love how cute it is!?!

This past Saturday night my favorite band, Molly Ringwalds played at Fire.
I know what you are thinking...
FIRE?!?
And yes, we attended!
It was a much needed night of fun with our friends and lots of dancing.
Robert saw tons of friends that he went to school with. It was so fun hearing their stories about high school and Robert when he was younger!
My original dance partner could not attend so Robert had to stand in.
(We missed you Mary E)
He was okay! I taught him lots of new moves!
I think we even have a new handshake now!?! Haha!
We had a great time!

Oh and look what I found...

One word: D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S-!

Our Mother's Day was kind of uneventful.
I was not able to spend it with my Mom, however, she knows how much I love her
and how special she is to me!
I LOVE YOU MOM!
Robert's mom has been sick, but we did cook burgers and played with Porter in his baby pool.
I think us just being at her house made her feel much better.

Here is a photo of Porter and his FAVORITE Uncle...

Porter is wearing a t-shirt that we bought him.
It says: "Life is good when you have an Uncle like mine!"
So true!

Hope your weekend and Mother's Day was great too!

Busy week to come! Stay tuned...

Fully Loaded Saturday

Saturday was a full day for the Powells!
We were up & at 'em @ 4 am to start the day.
We traveled to Kosciousko, MS for the Natchez Trace Festival.
We had a blast!
Robert's parents went with us to help! Thank goodness.
We had a GReAt day!
The weather was beautiful and the crowd with thick.
We cannot wait for the show again next year!

Here is sneak peak...

We rushed back so that we could head to Dwayne's BIG 4-0 birthday bash!
They had a crawfish boil at their house for all of their family and friends.
The crawfish were wonderful and the company was even better.
We had a blast!
It was the perfect ending to our day!
Robert's cousin Stacy made the most adorable cake for Dewayne.
She is so creative and very talented!
The pot was the actual cake, corn, lemons, onions & potatoes were made of rice krispy treats and fondant, and the crawfish were fully fondant .
It was incredible!

Sunday Fun Day was more like a Sunday Sleep Day!
We had a much needed day of relaxation.
This coming weekend we are splitting up for not one, but 2 festivals!
Wish us luck!
We are attending Yazoo City and Flowood.
Come out and see us!
